Rigorous Checks for Total Peace of Mind

In the construction industry, safety conditions can change daily. Under New Zealand law, the "PCBU" (Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking) is liable for ensuring safe working at height. Our inspection services take that weight off your shoulders. Whether it’s a routine weekly check or a post-storm audit, our certified inspectors ensure every nut, bolt, and plank meets the Good Practice Guidelines for Scaffolding in NZ.

Our Core Inspection Services

Weekly Compliance Checks (The 7-Day Rule)

Scaffolding is not a "set and forget" structure. To keep a Scafftag valid, the rig must be inspected every 7 days. We conduct these mandatory checks, updating the tag and logging the inspection to provide a clear audit trail for your health and safety records.

Pre-Handover Certification

Before you allow painters, bricklayers, or roofers onto a newly built scaffold, it must be certified safe. We perform thorough handover inspections to ensure the build matches the design and is fully compliant with AS/NZS 1576 before issuing the initial green "Safe" tag.

Event-Based Audits

Severe weather, earthquakes, or unauthorised alterations can compromise a scaffold's structural integrity. If your site has experienced high winds or impact damage, we perform an immediate, detailed audit to identify loose components or structural shifts before work resumes.

Why Trust Jase for Safety Inspections?

Safety isn't just about ticking a box; it's about ensuring everyone goes home to their families at the end of the day. Here is why site managers across the Manawatu rely on our eyes and expertise.

Certified Competence (CoC)

You cannot inspect what you don't understand. Our inspections are carried out by holders of the relevant Certificate of Competence (CoC). We know exactly what to look for, from base plate settlement to correct bracing patterns and tie frequencies.

Unbiased Reporting

Whether checking our own builds or providing a second opinion on an existing structure, we are black and white about safety. We adhere strictly to the regulations—no shortcuts, no "she'll be right.

Proactive Schedule Management

We track the 7-day cycle for you. You don't need to chase us; we schedule the inspections proactively to ensure your tags never expire, and your site never has to stop work due to compliance lapses.

FAQs

What do the different Scafftag colours mean?
  • Green Tag: The scaffold has been inspected, is compliant, and is safe to use.
  • Yellow Tag: The scaffold is being modified or has a specific hazard/limitation (e.g., "Caution: Head Height").
  • Red Tag (or No Tag): The scaffold is unsafe, incomplete, or overdue for inspection. Do not access the structure.
Do you inspect scaffolding you didn't build?
Yes. We can provide independent third-party audits for scaffolding erected by other companies. This is often requested by developers or homeowners who want an unbiased verification that the structure on their property is safe and compliant.
What happens if a scaffold fails inspection?
If we identify a hazard (e.g., removed ties, sinking base plates, missing guardrails), we will immediately remove the "Safe" tag and replace it with a "Do Not Use" notification. We will then report the specific issues to the site manager and provide a plan to rectify the faults so work can resume safely.
Is an inspection required after a storm?
Yes. WorkSafe guidelines state that scaffolding must be inspected after any "adverse weather conditions" that could affect its safety. This includes high winds, heavy rain (which can soften the ground under base plates), or earthquakes.
