total Protection for Renovations & New Builds

New Zealand’s weather is unpredictable. A wet winter can delay your project by weeks and damage exposed timber framing. Our shrink wrap encapsulation creates a drum-tight, waterproof seal around your scaffolding, allowing your builders to work comfortably through rain, wind, and UV heat. It is the ultimate insurance policy for your construction timeline.

Our Core Applications

Leaky Building Repairs & Re-Cladding:

When removing cladding, your home’s structure is completely exposed. Our shrink wrap provides a watertight shell, ensuring your timber frame stays dry while the old cladding is removed and the new system is installed.

New Builds (Moisture Control)

Keep your framing timber dry to meet moisture content readings faster. By wrapping the site early, you allow internal trades (electricians, insulation, GIB) to start work immediately, even if the roof or cladding isn't finished yet.

Asbestos & Dust Containment

For sensitive sites, shrink wrap creates a sealed environment. This prevents hazardous dust, debris, or paint chips from escaping into the neighbourhood, keeping you compliant with environmental regulations.

Why Choose Jase for Shrink Wrap?

Not all wrap jobs are created equal. A poorly installed wrap will flap, tear, and leak. We use premium materials and expert techniques to ensure your site stays sealed.

100% Weather Tight

We use industrial-grade Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) plastic that is heat-shrunk to create a seamless skin. It creates a drum-tight barrier that sheds water instantly and withstands the high winds typical of our region.

Ventilation & Moisture Management

Wrapping a house too tightly can trap moisture. We install strategic louvre vents and zipper doors to create airflow. This "breathes" the building, preventing mould growth and keeping the air safe for workers inside.

Site Security

Shrink wrap hides your expensive tools and materials from prying eyes. It adds an extra layer of security to the site, making access difficult for opportunist thieves after hours.

UV Resistant

Our wrap acts as a giant sunscreen for your building. It contains UV inhibitors that protect your exposed timber and building paper from sun damage if the project runs over the summer months.

FAQs

How much does shrink wrap cost compared to standard scaffolding?

Shrink wrap is an additional service on top of the scaffolding hire. While it costs more upfront, the value comes in savings on delays. By eliminating "rain days" and allowing internal trades (like wiring and insulation) to start before the roof is on, it often pays for itself on time-sensitive renovations and leaky building repairs.

How long does the shrink wrap last in the sun?
Our industrial-grade film contains UV inhibitors designed to withstand the harsh New Zealand sun. A standard installation is rated to last 6 to 12 months without becoming brittle or breaking down, which covers the duration of almost all residential and commercial builds.
Can you shrink-wrap a house if the timber is wet?

Yes, but ventilation is critical. If we wrap a wet building, we install additional louvre vents. This "tent effect" can actually help dry out the framing faster than leaving it exposed to the intermittent rain, provided the moisture is managed correctly.

Will the house get too hot or mouldy inside?
Proper installation prevents this. We don't just seal the building airtight; we install self-adhesive vents and zipped doors to create cross-ventilation. This regulates the temperature for your workers and allows moisture to escape, preventing mould growth on the timber.
Is the plastic recyclable in New Zealand?
Yes. The Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) used in our wrap is fully recyclable. We encourage clients to keep the plastic clean upon removal so it can be sent to commercial recycling facilities (like Plasback or local recyclers) to be repurposed, rather than going to a landfill.
